POSITIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS
- Dedicated - Cross' job requirements need him to be as every inch devoted to fighting for God as possible, and he fulfills this one to the letter. Because miracles of faith and divine power won't work unless you believe... And his amount of faith is innumerable.
- Manipulative - you don't hang around demons and other unholy folk without picking up a few things. While he is capable of convincing people that doing his bidding will benefit them as well, he's more prone to figuring out he is being manipulated.
- Intelligent - no need to think that a church man cannot be smart. He is a fanatic, sure, but he is a very intelligent fanatic. Which makes him even more dangerous.
- Good intentions - all that he does he does for the greater good.
- Brave - you have no idea what kind of things exorcists tend to see...
NEGATIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS
- Merciless - this intertwines with his good quality "for the greater good". That means he is ready to commit atrocities if he knows it would benefit God's cause. He's the kind of person to burn witches in XVII century. But yet, considering what happens now... are you so certain there weren't any witches?
- Killing demon > Saving soul - He views himself not as much a soul-saver, but as a demon - killer. And since exorcising is the only sure way to kill a demon, because killing the body would only send it back to hell, or somewhere else, he makes sure during his rituals a demon ultimately dies. Sometimes soul of the one demon fused with dies as well, if tis too difficult to save it.
- Smug sense of superiority - believes exorcists to be a step up from average priest, since throwing crosses and sprinkling holy water is something anyone can do, and views his brothers a bit condescendingly, a bit inferior. He doesn't rub it in their faces, but when he talks, it just ... seems that way.
- Bending the rules - uses every loophole in Church's code to get his way. The way he does it would make any ruthless lawyer say "Damn!"
- Dishonest - He lies. Frequently.
INVENTORY
- Bottle of Holy Water - so says the sign.
- Crosses - one under his shirt, and two as buttons on his sleeves
- Blessed Chain-rope - to bind possessed people. Blessing makes it very hard to rip apart by demons. And being a chain, normal people won't tear it apart either.
- Cross-shaped throwing knives (x5)
ADDITIONAL INFO
|
- fighting a demon is not always physical battle. More often it is one fighting between the mind of the monster inside a human body and the one forcing it out. As such, Cross is highly immune to any kind of mental manipulation. It works different on some - more weaker suggestions he will not hear in his mind at all, stronger ones - he will hear, but not as his inner voice, but a distorted demonic one, like it is supposed to be, allowing him to figure out those thoughts are implanted by someone else and fight them. - "He feels us!" - Sometimes the work of an exorcist is not to get rid of the demon within a human brought to him, but to find a demon among the crowd of innocent folk, or figure out that the person brought to him is not possessed, but just crazy (or that the ones that brought said person are crazy). The stronger the demon, the easier it is to sense. But anything below middle level would probably slip his demonic sense... - "Dodgy son of a bitch... - it doesn't take a genius to figure out you can't go into melee with a demon, or a possessed person - those often have strength of ten men. Having been in tight spots, he learned to keep himself away from harm by, surprise, dodging and running away. His primary weapon would not be strength, however, but... - "Let my prayer clean your soul... - Prayer was always the most potent weapon in an exorcist's arsenal, since it is they which destroy the demon, and not some artifacts and symbols of faith. He knows literally every prayer in the book by heart, and puts so much spirit in it it will smite even normal people with its passion and sincerity. As long as he can speak, and armed with faith, his words would be demons' worst nightmare. [/ul] NOW STOP ACTINGWE DON'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THAT OOC NAME Observer
