What was so funny? Why was she laughing so? He hadn't said anything funny in the slightest, yet somehow something he said had sparked a reaction in her. This pissed him off, simply because he felt as though he was being mocked. Dmitri wasn't fond of that. Simply because it always felt as though God was mocking his very existence. Laughing at the fact that his mother ignored him, that his brother despised him and that his stepfather thought he was a worthless little shit.
He was not to be mocked.
"I'm not in a bad mood, this is just who I am." He said rather simply, no emotion at all hidden within his voice. His words were empty, yet rang true. As bitter as he may be, that's just simply who he has grown to become...and always will be.
That's why he was looking forward to joining the Marines after military school. Maybe if he was lucky enough, he could give his life some meaning. Although he believed that life wouldn't last long in that profession. Not without being killed or horribly maimed like many of the upperclassmen who have graduated and went on to do the same thing.
"Games are for little kids. I don't play such games." His tone was sharp, serious, almost condescending.

Lilith frowned at his statement. Maybe games were for kids, but it was still hurtful to her, especially since he was a kid as well. She really thought that he needed to loosen up. He was much too uptight to be a kid like her. Maybe she should just give up on him and kill him. That seemed fitting. The aura she had been reading from him was nothing ordinary, but now that she looked more carefully, she was beginning to feel that it was much more like an adult. A selfish, pompous, and lecherous adult.
In any case, she wasn't quite ready to give up on him yet. Maybe there were still more ways to have fun with him than just this. She'd maintain her smile and look at him curiously.
"Well, if you're too mature to play with me... will you kiss me?"

Dmitri looked at Lilith, meeting her gaze with his own. Why was she staring at him so? It was somewhat creepy, though all the children of the corn were rather creepy so it honestly didn't phase him much. As long as he was outside of the corn he felt rather safe from whatever horrors lie inside. Maybe that wasn't quite true, but such assumptions made him feel at ease.
Wait...what did she say? Shock could clearly be seen upon his face, eyebrow raised as he kept staring at her. "You're like ten. I couldn't possibly do that. Though, by the looks of things..." The boy eyed her body up once more. "...it seems like this was your intention all along." He couldn't even think about doing anything, she was much too young for him. It would be like kissing a female version of his brother. Or at least that's how he saw it, considering they seem to be around the same age.
Meh. It was just so creepy.
The teen couldn't help but laugh a bit, it had escaped his lips. It was just a simple chuckle, though, it was a genuine one. A smile was left on his face thereafter, something he didn't usually do very much of. Mainly because there was nothing to smile about in that life of his, not at all.
"I see what you're trying to do." The teen would say, hinting at something much more mature than just a simple kiss. That's how he took it at face value. A naked girl asking for a kiss? Yeah right, as if that's all she wanted.

So he had refused her kiss too? He really wasn't any fun. In fact, Lilith was getting a bit aggravated with him. She had been looking forward to having a lot of fun with him, but now she was getting nothing from him. He was too mature, perhaps, and not mature in a good way. He was adult level mature. She'd have to leave him alone.
"You're worse than the adults," She pouted, crossing her arms over her chest. She glared into his eyes.
"Your soul will be devoured by Him, and it will bring justice against your sins."

The teen grinned sheepishly, playing his own bad attitude off a bit. Apparently he was finally getting to her, which was quite the accomplishment. Usually it took a less amount of time to piss someone off. As for her comment, he merely shrugged it off. He was nothing like an adult or a child or anyone else for that matter.
"I'm not like an adult. I am merely myself." That was the truth of the matter. It wasn't that he was mature, but rather that his personality was just that intense, serious almost. Granted, he was playful, yet no one stuck around for the aspect of himself.
"Such things don't bother me. Besides, I don't believe in God or the Devil. Hm, though, I wonder if refusing to kiss you is a sin. Or if you're just mad because I won't."
He took a step back, smirking slightly at the upset child. "Could it have occurred to you that I have a good reason for not kissing you?" The teen twirled his pistol in his index finger rather playfully. "Lip to lip contact is reserved only for someone who is dating me. Otherwise, it's gross, don't you think?"
He wasn't lying, he did have that view. Well...on top of the age difference. Either way, if he went around kissing every random person he met then he'd end up with some strange disease or something. The thought alone was disgusting.

"Then so be it."
With that, Lilith was ready to retreat. She no longer was worried about Dmitri joining her group. She didn't need him any more. He wasn't fun, and he wouldn't do well with the Children of the Corn. Still, she'd keep her eye on him. She knew people could change, and maybe she'd be the one to change him.
"If you ever decide you want to play, all you need to do is call out to the corn."
In any case, she turned around, her back now facing him. She made her way back to the cornfield aiming to leave him behind. She had had enough excitement for one night.
